Paddy Walker-Taylor was finance director of Newarthill, the holding company of Sir Robert McAlpine, the privately-owned UK construction and property group. He was involved in the AIM float of ISG Group in which McAlpine had a minority stake. Previously he spent 20 years in the retail sector initially as treasury executive at Marks & Spencer in the UK and then vice president finance of its US operation. He became finance director of Woolworths and subsequently director of financial control at Kingfisher, Woolworth’s parent company. Since taking early retirement, he has been providing finance director services to small and medium-sized companies.
